Direct Counsel is seeking a High Tech Intellectual Property Associate to join a prestigious Am Law 100 firm in Washington, D.C. The ideal candidate will have 2 to 6 years of experience and a background in electrical/computer engineering, mechanical engineering, physics, or a similar field. Patent litigation experience is preferred. Candidates must have superior academic credentials and excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle complex intellectual property matters, with a focus on high-tech patents.
- Work on patent litigation cases, assisting in case strategy, drafting motions, and conducting legal research.
- Collaborate with engineering and technology experts to analyze patent claims.
- Represent clients in high-stakes IP disputes and enforcement actions.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school (Class of 2019 to 2023).
- Background in electrical/computer engineering, mechanical engineering, physics, or a related field.
- Patent litigation experience preferred.
- Strong legal research, writing, and advocacy skills.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $235,000 – $390,000 (for JD classes 2019–2023). Actual salary may vary based on experience and qualifications.
