Land Use Associate Attorney
Location: Orange County, California
Practice Area: Land Use & Natural Resources
Direct Counsel is seeking a Land Use Associate with 4 to 7 years of experience to join the expanding Land Use team of a prestigious Am Law 100 firm. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with developers, property owners, and investors on a variety of land use and natural resources matters.
Key Responsibilities

Work on a full spectrum of land use and natural resources matters.

Conduct land use due diligence, process entitlements, and manage environmental review under CEQA.

Represent clients in land use matters, guiding projects through complex regulatory and compliance processes.

Litigation experience in Land Use or CEQA is helpful but not required.

Experience in natural resources, wetlands, endangered species, California Coastal Commission, BCDC, Subdivision Map Act, and/or NHPA is a plus but not required.
Qualifications

Education: J.D. with strong academic credentials.

Experience: 4 to 7 years of experience in land use, including due diligence, entitlements, and environmental review under CEQA.

Skills: Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.

State Bar Admission: Must be admitted to the State Bar of California.

Other: Ability to work in a team and handle significant individual responsibilities with a commitment to teamwork and client service.
Work Environment & Compensation

Salary Range: $250,000 to $315,000 (actual salary will depend on experience, qualifications, and other factors).
