Direct Counsel is seeking a highly skilled Mid-Level Associate to join the Commercial Litigation team at a prestigious AmLaw 100 firm in New York. This is an exceptional opportunity for a litigation attorney with 3-6 years of experience to handle complex, high-stakes disputes in federal and state courts.

Key Responsibilities:
- Handle all phases of complex commercial litigation, from pleadings to trial.
- Draft and argue motions, briefs, and legal memoranda in state and federal courts.
- Conduct legal research and case strategy development.
- Take and defend depositions of fact and expert witnesses.
- Manage discovery, including document review, production, and privilege issues.
- Work closely with clients, partners, and expert witnesses to develop case strategy.
- Represent clients in court hearings, arbitrations, and mediations.
- Supervise and mentor junior associates and litigation support teams.
- Stay ahead of emerging legal trends, procedural rules, and industry developments.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from a top-tier law school with strong academic credentials.
- Admitted to the New York Bar and in good standing.
- JD class years 2019–2021 with substantial litigation experience at a leading law firm.
- Experience handling commercial litigation cases in New York state and federal courts.
- Federal clerkship experience is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to handle case management responsibilities and client communications.
- Exceptional research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
- Strong attention to detail, business judgment, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while managing multiple cases.
- Experience with complex eDiscovery, privilege issues, and evidentiary hearings.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with partners, clients, and teams.
Work Environment & Compensation:
- Hybrid work model – Regular in-office presence with flexibility for remote work.
