About the Firm
Direct Counsel is seeking a Real Estate Associate to join a prominent law firm’s real estate practice in New York. The firm’s real estate team represents domestic and international clients in complex, large-scale transactions across a wide range of commercial real estate matters. They serve a diverse client base, including Fortune 50 to 500 companies, institutional investors, developers, landlords, tenants, and individual owners, across multifamily, industrial, office, retail, data centers, and telecommunications projects. The team is highly regarded for its ability to navigate the risks and opportunities in the ever-changing real estate market.
Responsibilities
As a Real Estate Associate, you will be responsible for supporting a broad range of commercial real estate transactions, with a particular focus on financing and joint venture transactions. You will also gain exposure to acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, and development projects. Key responsibilities include:

Assisting in large-scale real estate transactions, including financing, joint ventures, acquisitions, dispositions, and leasing

Handling complex real estate matters for clients, ensuring high-quality legal service and client satisfaction

Collaborating with team members to efficiently navigate the intricacies of multifaceted real estate deals

Providing insightful legal analysis and support for projects involving data centers, digital infrastructure, and telecommunications (a plus)

Managing multiple projects simultaneously and maintaining attention to detail and organization

Working directly with clients, investors, and other stakeholders in a professional, efficient manner
Qualifications
Candidates must meet the following qualifications to be considered for this position:

A JD or LLM from an ABA-accredited law school

Admission or eligibility for admission in New York

At least 4 years of broad commercial real estate experience, with a preference for candidates with substantive experience in financing or joint venture transactions

Experience with acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, and development transactions is essential

Familiarity with data center, digital infrastructure, or telecommunications transactions is a plus

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to prioritize tasks, stay organized, and pay attention to detail

Compensation & Benefits
The salary range for this position is $310,000 to $420,000, with additional bonus eligibility. The firm offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health, wellness, and retirement options.
