Direct Counsel, LLC is seeking a Senior Litigator for a prestigious boutique law firm located in the San Francisco Bay Area. This attorney will have the opportunity to work on impactful and complex litigation cases while being part of a mission-driven team focusing on public law. The Senior Litigator will primarily handle high-profile matters involving labor and employment law, public sector law, and government-related litigation in both state and federal courts. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to significant legal matters while being part of a collaborative and dynamic team committed to advocating for the public interest.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of litigation, including developing case strategy, overseeing discovery, and preparing for trial.
- Lead trial efforts, examining witnesses, making legal arguments, and presenting cases to judges and juries.
- Navigate complex litigation cases, including those involving constitutional and statutory law, and class actions at state and federal levels.
- Represent clients in court and administrative hearings, including before the Public Employment Relations Board.
- Provide direct client counsel, conducting investigations, strategic planning, and maintaining client relationships.
- Mentor junior attorneys and collaborate with legal staff to foster professional development.
Qualifications:
- 6 years of experience in litigation defense, with a strong focus on complex litigation cases in state and federal court.
- Proven ability to develop and manage discovery processes in complex legal actions.
- Expertise in labor and employment law, public sector law, or government-related litigation is preferred.
- Exceptional written and verbal advocacy skills, with a successful track record in trial and appellate work.
- Strong strategic thinking, case management, and client relationship skills.
- Commitment to serving the public sector or working in public interest legal practice.

Compensation:
The annual compensation range for this position is between $180,000 and $240,000, based on qualifications and experience.
