Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Quality Assurance Supervisor to oversee our repacking operations and ensure that all products meet both customer specifications and Direct Roots’ quality standards. This role is critical in maintaining product integrity, compliance, and overall operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and collaboration skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Duties:
- Supervise repackers to ensure proper handling and quality control procedures are followed.
- Ensure that the products received and stored in our warehouse for shipping meet the specifications requested by our customers, as well as the quality standards established by Direct Roots.
- Conduct thorough inspections of all incoming, stored, and outgoing products, covering aspects such as quality, weight, packaging, sizing, and labeling.
- Identify and address any quality-related issues, working closely with the operations team to resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate documentation of quality inspections, reporting any deviations from quality standards.
- Train and mentor team members on quality control procedures and best practices.
- Enforce compliance with food safety regulations and company policies.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in quality assurance, preferably within the fresh produce or food distribution industry
- Previous experience in a supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of quality control standards related to fresh fruits and vegetables
- Bilingual
Requirements:
- Strong computer fluency e.g., Windows, Word, Outlook
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work weekends, evenings and holidays as needed.
- Strong knowledge of produce quality and grade.
