OVERVIEW
The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for accurately processing payroll for exempt, non-exempt, part-time, full-time, and temporary employees across multiple business entities. This role ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll regulations while maintaining accurate and up-to-date employee payroll records. The position involves preparing payroll reports, addressing employee inquiries, and collaborating closely with the HR and Accounting teams to ensure accurate and timely payroll operations. Additional responsibilities include managing direct deposit setups, wage garnishments, tax filings, benefit and time off system administration, and supporting year-end processing, such as W-2, 1095s, and tax form preparation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process weekly and bi-weekly payrolls for both exempt and non-exempt, part-time, full-time, and temporary employees accurately and in a timely manner – for multiple business entities.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
- Maintain and update employee payroll records, including wage adjustments, benefits, taxes, and deductions.
- Prepare payroll reports and provide payroll data to the Accounting Team as needed.
- Handle employee inquiries related to paychecks, deductions, and tax information.
- Reconcile payroll discrepancies and resolve issues as they arise.
- Collaborate with the HR team to ensure employee information is up-to-date and compliant.
- Reconcile monthly benefit invoicing to ensure accurate enrollment, invoicing, and deductions.
- Manage direct deposit setups, wage garnishments, and tax filings.
- Administration of HRIS benefit and PTO policies.
- Prepare employee census and other reports for COO and HR Team as needed.
- Assist in year-end processing including W-2s, 1095s, and other tax forms.
- Ad-hoc payroll and HR projects
