Position Summary:
This is a professional leadership position that works in a team approach to decrease the number of children not meeting the early childhood learning standards to succeed in the classroom and graduate in the VPK program by utilizing a solution-focused, family centered approach and evidenced based practices to assist the teacher and the families in meeting needs and goals while preventing any potential future risk for abuse, neglect and abandonment. This individual will work with the other members of the team to provide a supportive, empowering and respectful relationship with families to facilitate change and emphasize the need to take action by providing both concrete services and family interventions. Licensed Supervisors will be practice leaders and will oversee both
Masters' prepared clinicians, intensive case managers, SME and IDT facilitators. The First Five team will provide therapeutic services in the classroom, home or in a place convenient to the family and the services needed. The focus of this position is to guide the short-term intervention services to at-risk children and families and facilitate service delivery to improve the child's development, learning, educational, and behavioral health needs. The team will provide services that will be flexible to the child's individual needs and will include a discharge/after care plan for each family upon case closure through the identification of family strengths and resources. Individuals in this position will participate in case staffings. The Director may be assigned to be on call for coverage after hours and on weekends. If needed. Staff are required to complete all corporate and industry related trainings. This is a field-based position.
EDUCATION EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS:
- Must hold a Master's Degree Social Work or related area of study from an accredited university with two (2) years of supervisory experience and has at least 2 years of experience in working with at-risk populations to include families experiencing substance misuse, domestic violence, mental health, and emotionally disturbed children.
- Florida Licensed Psychologist or Board-Certified Behavioral Analyst required. Must be maintained throughout employment at the employee's expense.
- Previous behavioral health/child welfare experience and/or certification is preferred.
