Position Overview
The HR and Payroll Specialist is responsible for overseeing payroll, administering employee benefits programs, and ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations. You’ll also play a key role in supporting HR processes such as onboarding, maintaining employee records, assisting with leave of absence administration, and contributing to early-stage candidate evaluations, helping ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Administer employee benefits, including health, dental, vision, retirement plans, and COBRA
- Oversee bi-weekly payroll processing through ADP Workforce Now.
- Facilitate open enrollment, benefit changes, and terminations, ensuring accurate payroll deductions and record-keeping.
- Maintain accurate payroll and HR records, ensuring compliance with employment laws and internal policies.
- Respond promptly to employee payroll and benefits inquiries while providing clear, supportive communication.
- Assist with onboarding new hires, including benefits education and proper setup in payroll systems.
- Reconcile payroll to general ledger accounts and benefit invoices.
- Support HR processes such as leave of absence requests, employee file audits, and benefit reporting.
- Prepare and distribute payroll-related documents such as W-2s.
- Utilize Microsoft Excel for reporting, data reconciliation, and process optimization.

Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of payroll and HR administration experience
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required
- Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
