Overview
We are seeking a VTC Administrator - Senior in Fort Huachuca, Arizona . NETCOM fields a team of the Army's premier VTC/VoIP/UC technical experts in real-time Internet Protocol (IP) networking services to provide Theater service management, Network Operations (NETOPS), and security of voice and video to support over 900,000 Army CONUS subscribers.
Essential Job Duties
- Conducts testing of network design and UC/VTC architecture.
- Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gatekeepers, gateways, etc.
- Evaluates and reports on new communications technologies to enhance capabilities.
- Viewed as an expert within the VTC or UC field.
- Exhibits exceptional ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness.
- Acts independently on technical matters pertaining to assigned field and related disciplines.
- Must be entirely self-supervisory.
- Recommends technologies to accomplish long-term objectives.
- Develops concepts, products, or technologies that extend knowledge in fields of expertise.
- May serve as external spokesperson for DVS.
- Often instrumental in attracting and obtaining new customer business.
- Provides technical leadership and mentors team members and DVS colleagues.
- Interacts closely with customer representatives on highly advanced technical issues.
- Explains and presents high-level technical subjects and processes related to assignments.
- Independently composes and delivers reports and presentations of the highest professional quality.
- Provision, secure, operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and provide service management of VTC technologies including Cisco Unified Border Elements (CUBE), Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), Cisco Expressway Core and Edge, Cisco Meeting Server/App, and Cisco TelePresence Management Suite.
- Perform backups on all managed devices on a regular basis in accordance with disaster recovery requirements.
- Ensure all managed devices are configured and maintained to adhere to all applicable DoD STIG and SRG requirements.
- Upgrade all managed devices within the required timeline when dictated by Security Advisory Notification Vulnerabilities.
Minimum Requirements
- Active in scope SECRET clearance or the ability to obtain Interim SECRET eligibility.
- HS 6 or AA/AS 4 or BA/BS 2 years of technical experience in UC/VTC
- IAT II certification (CND, CySA , GICSP, GSEC, Security CE, or SSCP) required.
- CCNA Enterprise, CCNP Collaboration, or approved relevant certification w/in 180 days of hire
- Willing to work overtime, holidays, and weekends as necessary.
- Participate in rotational on-call duties to provide after-hours support.
- Willing to travel to Contingency of Operations Plan (COOP) sites.
Preferred Qualifications
- Working or expert knowledge of VTC registration, routing, MCUs and endpoints.
- Additional expertise in Ribbon Communications or Genband/Sonus Networks product management. Experience in Cisco/Avaya/Nortel product management would be considered if candidate has extensive knowledge.
- Advanced knowledge of network technologies such as routing and switching. Able to review firewall, router and switch configurations to identify configuration issues.
- Experience with AESMP (ServiceNow).
