About DIRT

We are a nonprofit coffee shop with a mission to employ and empower neurodivergent individuals while serving a crafty cup of coffee. Our mobile coffee truck hit the road in 2013, and our shop opened in downtown Littleton in 2018.

Job Summary

A Workforce Development Coordinator will work to ensure an accessible and inclusive workspace by providing individualized support to the job seekers and participants in our workforce development program. A Workforce Development Coordinator will be expected to become an expert in job coaching tools and the job search process to cultivate independence for job seekers long term. This position works hand in hand with DIRT’s mission to provide inclusive and accessible employment opportunities to our neurodiverse community.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

As a Workforce Development Coordinator, you will…

Individual Job Coaching (40%)

Provide direct support and coaching to internship program participants by utilizing job coaching skills to teach independence and job-related skills such as money management, customer service, problem-solving, teamwork, and communication.

Monitor participant progress throughout their involvement with the vocational training program.

Provide direct support and coaching to job seekers by utilizing a strength-based approach to teach independence and job-search skills such as resume development, job applications, employer follow-ups, and interviews.

Monitor participant progress throughout their involvement with the job search process.

Provide professional coaching and cultivate independence for individuals transitioning into long term employment.

Advocating for and helping to identify accommodations for our neurodivergent job seekers.

Group Workshop Facilitation (20%)

Prepare for workshops and lead setup, activities, and facilitation preparation.

Facilitate employment workshops in a group setting to program participants. Topics facilitated include professional communication, self-advocacy, healthy boundaries in the workplace, and more.

Administrative Work (40%)

Complete contact notes after each participant’s shift or group workshop, and monthly progress reports to report participant’s progress to the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation.

Manage a small caseload of clients (job seekers) and find innovative ways to support them in the job search process. This could look like: developing example resumes, coordinating mock interviews, etc.

Input daily data to maintain ongoing goal tracking to display growth over time for each participant.

Input and track workshop surveys to identify strengths and areas of growth for programming.

Communicating individual progress to the Associate Director of Programs and supporting individuals in maintaining employment through consistent, scheduled check ins.

Complete progress reports and invoicing to revenue streams to ensure reimbursement for programming.

Communicate with Division of Vocational Rehabilitation and other case management organizations to secure funding for individual participants as available.

Work alongside the Associate Director of Programs to develop new programs, services, and service deliveries.

Preferred Competencies

  • Technical/Written Communication: Responding to all written and oral communication in a timely, kind and effective manner & providing clear and effective written communication through contact notes, progress reports, and program documents.
  • Effective Education: Training interns on tasks within the shop by describing step by step instructions to provide comprehensive coaching to interns.
  • Bilingual (Spanish and/or ASL preferred)
  • General knowledge of surrounding community and local disability organizations
  • Able to commit to a minimum of one-year.
  • Able to perform manual labor and lift 30 pounds.

Experience:

1 or more years working with the neurodivergent population

Availability:

Someone who has the flexibility to work up to 40 hours per week, including office hours and direct work on and off-site.

*This position will include some coaching sessions off-site at employment sites.*

Pay: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour
