Job Title: Production Engineer - Lifting & Handling for Blades
Location: Fort Madison, Iowa (USA)
Contract Duration: 24 months (Starting May 2025)
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Production Engineer to support the worldwide tooling area, specifically focusing on lifting equipment, heavy transporting equipment, and machinery (including pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems). This role will involve defining, validating/testing, and implementing lifting equipment and machinery for blade production.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in mechanical, electrical, or mechatronics engineering, as well as a deep understanding of blade manufacturing projects or heavy industry practices. You will play a critical role in supporting the installation and ongoing operation of specialized equipment for blade production process.
Main Responsibilities:
- Create requirement specifications for lifting equipment and machinery needed for blade production at our Fort Madison facility, considering local regulations and standards.
- Monitor the procurement process and ensure proper commissioning and validation of equipment on-site in the USA.
- Support the handover of equipment to the blade manufacturing plant and provide ongoing support.
- FAT (Factory Acceptance Test), SAT (Site Acceptance Test), and TOC (Take Over Certificate) reports providing
- Ensure that the installation of new machinery aligns with the company’s global standards.
Required Qualifications:
- Educational background: mechanical, electrical, or mechatronics engineer,
- Experience: 5 years in blade manufacturing projects or other heavy industries,
- Technical skills: profcient in MS Office, Jira, CAD/PLM programs (NX, Teamcenter), knowledge of structural calculations/FEA,
- Safety comptences: familiity with CE marking and machinery directives, or the US equivalents (UL, ASME, etc.),
- Languages: fluent in English,
- Location: must be living in the USA and available to provide on-site support in Fort Madison, Iowa,
- Willingness to travel: up to 30 days per year to plants or suppliers.
