We are looking for a hard-working and detail-oriented technician that will play a pivotal role in providing precise sample preparation of ores and other bulk materials.
Job Description:
- Provide hands-on work with samples ranging from drill-core to ore tailings
- Fulfill customized projects from start to finish with the guidance and direction of the Lab Manager
- Learn and follow standard operating procedures – providing insight where needed
- Operate equipment related to sample prep. (jaw crusher, ring-and-puck mill, pressure filters, drying ovens)
- Provide daily maintenance checks of equipment and identify potential issues
- Properly track and label samples throughout project phases
- Use basic computer skills to navigate programs including Microsoft Excel for data entry
Requirements:
- Strong attention to detail and high level of honesty
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Uphold a high standard of personal and shop-wide safety
- Continue to promote a positive and cooperative work culture
- Ability to stand for long periods of time during repetitive tasks
- Ability to wear required PPE for sustained periods of time
- Ability to lift 50lbs over short distances (ex. lifting to work surfaces, transferring into machinery)
- Experience or interest in mining, minerals processing and/or reclamation preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
