Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Principal Engineer Systems - Cost Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Systems organization. This role is located in Melbourne, FL .
The Cost Engineering position represents a unique specialty engineering opportunity within the larger Systems Engineering organization. The Cost Engineer works closely with all technical aspects and requirements of the program, linking the technical solution to the cost solution. They are responsible for performing a variety of engineering economic analyses that can be executed throughout the product life cycle stages. The position requires an understanding of at least two of the following analyses : Cost-Effectiveness, Life Cycle Cost (LCC), Cost As an Independent Variable (CAIV), Design to Cost (DTC), and Cost Reduction Initiatives (CRI). It requires systems thinking and a working knowledge of the development life cycle. The candidate will develop tradeoffs of requirements, design, performance, cost, and schedule to address affordability constraints. The candidate should have a foundational understanding of Systems Engineering; stakeholder analysis, mission engineering, system architecture and design, system integration, system analysis and trade studies, risk and opportunity management.

Salary Range : $95,300 - $142,900
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and / or personal business.
