Disc Medicine is seeking an Associate Director, Health Economics Outcomes Research (HEOR) to lead and manage global HEOR and real-world evidence (RWE) projects, ensuring quality and timely delivery to support Disc Medicine's development programs. This role will be responsible for generating and disseminating scientific evidence to support Global Medical Affairs and Market Access strategies, informing providers, payers, and patients on the value propositions of our products. The Associate Director will report to the Senior Director, Medical Affairs and work closely with cross-functional teams and provide HEOR/RWE inputs and leadership to support broad patient access to Disc's products globally.

Disc Medicine is seeking an Associate Director, Health Economics Outcomes Research (HEOR) to lead and manage global HEOR and real-world evidence (RWE) projects, ensuring quality and timely delivery to support Disc Medicine's development programs. This role will be responsible for generating and disseminating scientific evidence to support Global Medical Affairs and Market Access strategies, informing providers, payers, and patients on the value propositions of our products. The Associate Director will report to the Senior Director, Medical Affairs and work closely with cross-functional teams and provide HEOR/RWE inputs and leadership to support broad patient access to Disc's products globally.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and conduct methodologically sound HEOR and RWE studies to ensure timely understanding of burden of disease, unmet need, and the economic, humanistic, and clinical value proposition of Disc's products.
- Serve as project lead on HEOR and RWE studies. Oversee vendor selection and management as applicable. Author and review protocols, analytical plans, reports, and other study documents with independent, critical thinking to ensure quality and completeness of output. Oversee timeline for deliverables associated with analyses, reporting, and publications.
- Support development of global HEOR tools and value messages including, but not limited to, cost-effectiveness and budget impact models (BIMs) and dossiers to support engagement with key stakeholders (e.g., payers).
- Keep abreast of the therapeutic area, HEOR, and health policy trends in the US, collaborating with the cross-functional team to address strategic objectives in anticipation of these trends.
- Identify and develop strategies to support program and operational needs, including generation of new study areas and development of SOPs, where applicable.
- Collaborate and communicate with internal cross-functional partners (Commercial, Clinical Development, regulatory) and external KOLs.
- Represent Disc at relevant scientific, medical, payer, patient, policy and other meetings, when appropriate.
- Advanced relevant degree or professional credentials required. Minimum of MA/MS/MBA with 7 plus years of relevant industry experience or PhD/PharmD with 3 plus years of relevant industry experience.
- Rigorous health economics, epidemiology, biostatistics, or related research methodology training with experience designing, planning, and conducting HEOR and RWE studies. Experiences specifically with qualitative insights generation, systematic literature reviews, health economic models, claims analyses, electronic medical records (EMR) or other database analyses, and/or chart reviews.
- Experience designing and conducting regulatory grade HEOR and RAE studies preferred.
- Strong analytical skills, especially to understand and interpret scientific and HEOR/RWE literature and analyses.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills and the ability to effectively communicate complex scientific concepts to diverse audiences.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment and effectively communicate relevant HEOR strategies, evidence, and study results with a variety of internal / external stakeholders.
- Must be intellectually curious, professional, and adaptable.
- Knowledge of the product-development life cycle, including regulatory processes and product launches.
- Programming proficiency with SAS and R preferred.
- Highly organized and self-motivated with ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects, determine and meet project objectives, timeline and budget.
- Willingness to travel approximately 20% of the time to conferences and Disc's offices.
