POSITION OVERVIEW:

Disc Medicine is seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Director of Talent Acquisition to lead our recruitment efforts and drive the growth of our innovative organization. Reporting to the Head of Human Resources, this successful candidate will lead the strategy and execution of our hiring initiatives while actively engaging in the tactical work required to deliver results.

This is a hands-on, high-impact role that requires a proactive, results-oriented professional with the ability to execute all aspects of the recruitment process while guiding the broader strategy. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Actively manage the end-to-end recruitment process, from sourcing to onboarding, ensuring an excellent candidate and hiring manager experience.
  • Design and execute sourcing strategies to attract highly specialized talent for R&D roles, including scientists, clinical experts, and other biopharma professionals.
  • Proactively build and maintain a pipeline of high-caliber candidates for current and future needs, focusing on hard-to-fill and niche roles.
  • Oversee relationships with external staffing agencies, ensuring alignment with organizational needs, cost-effectiveness, and quality performance.
  • Collaborate across the organization and HR to assess hiring needs and develop robust, forward-looking talent acquisition strategies.
  • Track and analyze key hiring metrics to measure success, identify challenges, and inform decision-making.
  • Partner with internal teams to enhance the company's visibility and appeal in the competitive talent market.
  • Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements and implement industry best practices to improve hiring outcomes.
  • Partner with HR, hiring managers, and cross-functional teams to foster a cohesive and efficient recruitment process.
  • Foster a positive workplace culture that prioritizes collaboration, ensures accountability, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field; advanced degree or certifications in HR or Talent Acquisition preferred.
  • 12 years of progressive talent acquisition experience, with a minimum of 5 years in the life sciences industry.
  • Proven ability to source and hire top talent for highly technical and specialized R&D roles.
  • Ability to develop and execute comprehensive talent acquisition strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Adept at balancing strategic planning with hands-on execution, actively managing recruitment processes.
  • Extensive experience managing external recruitment agencies, including contract negotiations and performance evaluations.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, building trust and collaborating effectively with hiring managers and executive stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills and a track record of using data to drive improvements in recruitment processes.
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and sourcing tools, focusing on leveraging technology to enhance recruitment outcomes.
