Description
The Distributor Account Manager's primary responsibility is to be the main point of contact for our strategic client accounts, using independent judgment to oversee the business relationship. The incumbent must have a complete understanding of assigned accounts, internal procedures, pricing, and products to successfully manage accounts.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Acts as the primary point of contact and builds long-term relationships with customers
- Develops a trusted advisor relationship with key accounts, customer stakeholders, and executive sponsors
- Uses critical thinking skills to ensure a timely and successful delivery of solutions according to customer needs and objectives
- Works independently to identify customer requirements and communicate to the internal manufacturing team, ensuring production and quality standards are met
- Accepts and assists customers with orders and pricing requests
- Independently tracks orders as they move through production and provides updates to customers as needed
- Works independently to resolve issues associated with the product after delivery
- Responsible for working with the Sales team to onboard and integrate new clients and develop existing client relationships
- Identifies opportunities to capture additional sales
- Forecasts and tracks key account metrics
- Performs other duties as needed or assigned
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent may include specialized classes beyond high school
- Typically possess 1 to 3 years of proven account management or other relevant work experience
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Self-motivated and able to thrive in a results-driven environment
- Analytical skills to determine what service(s) Discount Labels can provide to best help client(s)
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to deal with clients’ concerns/complaints & unique situations
- Organizational skills, ability to effectively pursue a variety of tasks simultaneously
- Keen attention to detail and adherence to deadlines
- Ability to obtain & provide timely information through oral or written communications both to/from customers and internal contacts (via phone, fax & email)
- PC/Mac ability, with knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications, preferred
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions. Ability to read, interpret and create simple correspondence and memos
- Ability to effectively present information one-on-one and in small group situations
Physical Requirements & Environmental Conditions
- Environment is typically general office, though the incumbent may spend short periods in the manufacturing environments with exposure including but not limited to dust, dirt, high noise levels and variations in temperature. Occasional exposure to one or more unpleasant or hazardous conditions 0% to 10% of work time.
- Incumbent constantly required to hear, speak, articulate, and use manual dexterity.
- Incumbent regularly required to stand, walk, use color vision, grasp, reach, and sit for prolonged periods of time.
- Incumbent occasionally required to carry and lift up to 25 lbs.
