Counter Sales Representative

Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and customer-oriented Counter Sales Representative to join our team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our customers, providing exceptional service and support while assisting them with their lumber/metal industry needs. Your expertise in customer service and knowledge of inventory is a key factor in your success.

Duties

• Greet customers warmly and assist them with inquiries regarding lumber and metal
• Maintain an organized and efficient sales counter environment to enhance customer experience.
• Utilize retail math skills to process transactions accurately using a cash register.
• Manage shelf stocking and facing of retail materials in store
• Provide knowledgeable advice on lumber and metal for customer-based projects
• Learn and utilize the point of sale system to process estimates and orders
• Assist the administrative staff with various projects at front counter
• Collaborate with the lumber yard and metal shop to ensure seamless communication regarding customer needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support overall operations.

Requirements

• Previous experience in retail or counter sales, preferably in the lumber/metal industry- but will train the right motivated individual to succeed.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Having an inventory-based knowledge and a sales mindset.
• Proficiency in using cash registers and handling cash transactions accurately as well as authorizing credit card sales.
• Familiarity with inventory systems is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of Excel for data entry and reporting purposes.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with customers and team members.
• A positive attitude with a commitment to providing outstanding customer service.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
