Job Title: Ortho Treatment Coordinator (OTC)
Status: Initial 9 to 12 Month Contact (Possibility for Extension)
Location/s: Jackson, MS
Job Summary:
The Orthodontic Treatment Coordinator (OTC) plays a vital role in ensuring a positive patient experience by providing comprehensive support and education to patients seeking orthodontic care. The OTC is responsible for presenting treatment plans, discussing associated costs, and facilitating a seamless process for patients, including insurance, payment options, and follow-up. This role demands a high level of communication and organizational skills, along with a deep understanding of orthodontic treatment plans and procedures.
Essential Functions and Primary Responsibilities:
- Present orthodontic treatment plans and provide cost estimates effectively to patients.
- Educate patients on the Orthodontist's diagnosis and recommended treatment plans after clinical review.
- Monitor and track collections while performing necessary patient follow-up.
- Explain, promote, and enforce company payment policies and procedures.
- Achieve high treatment acceptance rates by clearly explaining treatment costs, insurance coverage, and financing options.
- Solicit referrals from satisfied patients and monitor patient satisfaction levels post-treatment.
- Contact patients/guarantors to confirm appointments and discuss fees due before their scheduled visits.
- Maintain the highest integrity by adhering to all government regulations, company standards, and compliance programs.
- Perform additional duties that support the Orthodontist and overall practice operations.
Qualifications:
Education/Experience
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as an Orthodontic Treatment Coordinator in a similar practice is required
- Dental Radiology Certification required
Required Skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Dental background with knowledge of treatment plan presentation and CDT codes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
- High-level knowledge of orthodontics and associated treatment plans.
- Ability to communicate orthodontic techniques effectively.
- Thorough understanding of dental insurance policies, service limits, PPO, self-pay collections, and financing options.
Preferred Skills
- 3 years of customer service experience.
- Advanced knowledge of orthodontic treatment plans, presentation techniques, and CDT codes.
- Proficiency in handling dental insurance and financing options.
- Bilingual English-Spanish is highly desirable.
- RHS (Radiation Health & Safety) certification is a plus.
Job Types: Temporary, Contract
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
