Discovery Corner Child Care Center is looking to hire PreK teacher who has Certification of PreK - 3 for their state funded Pre K classroom. Under the administrative direction of the CherryHill Public School and under the direct supervision of the Discovery Corner Child Care Director, the classroom Teacher has major responsibility for all classroom operations including, planning, carry out activities, maintaining the classroom environment, supervising children, parent/teacher conferences, and supervision of classroom volunteers and teacher assistant.
Duties
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum for preschool students
- Create engaging lesson plans that promote learning and development in various areas such as math, language, science, and social skills
- Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow
- Conduct assessments to track each child's progress and identify areas for improvement
- Collaborate with parents and other staff members to ensure the well-being and success of each child
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom that is conducive to learning
- Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities, including physical education exercises
- Work in a team setting with all staff to determine individual needs of children. Design and implement plans that will expose children to meaningful experiences. Participate in curriculum development and recommend necessary changes.
- Facilitate Parent/Teacher Conferences
- Greet parents and children pleasantly and appropriately, ensuring a smooth transition into the classroom. Maintain ongoing professional and appropriate communication with parents. Provide activities parents can do at home with their children to support the curriculum and the child’s learning.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of curriculum development for preschool-aged children
- Ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Experience in teaching various subjects, including math, language, and science
- Familiarity with special education practices and strategies
- Understanding of child welfare guidelines and regulations
- Knowledge of childhood development milestones and appropriate teaching techniques
- Previous experience working in a daycare or preschool setting
- Ability to effectively communicate with children, parents, and colleagues
- Patience, creativity, and a passion for working with young children

Qualifications:
Educational Requirements:
Baccalaureate or advanced degree in Early Childhood Education or a baccalaureate or advanced degree and coursework equivalent to a major relating to early childhood education. Must hold a New Jersey P-3 Certification and/or Certificate of Eligibility issued by the State of New Jersey Department of Education.
Experience Requirements:
Experience teaching pre-school children in the Pre K classrooms; minimum of three years experience working with preschool aged children and families.
