Position Summary:
Discovery Life Sciences (DLS) is a trusted provider of quality biospecimens and laboratory services to hundreds of customers across the U.S. and around the world. With our expertise in IHC services focused on oncology, inflammatory diseases, as well as other disease states, we are developing novel cancer tests to improve cancer patient outcomes. The Associate Scientific Project Manager contributes to our mission by supporting the Study Director throughout the duration of a project including sponsor and study director updates, developing study design, proposal writing, and presenting to clients.
A Day in the Life of an Associate Project Manager at Discovery Life Sciences:
- Complete study documentation.
- Communicate with other project managers to resolve issues.
- Restock all necessary laboratory supplies .
Qualifications (Education, Skills, Experience):
Must Have:
- BA in molecular biology or cell biology with 1-2 years' experience in a laboratory is required. MS candidates will also be considered.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments and resolve multiple complex problems simultaneously
Nice-To-Have:
- Experience in IHC, biomarker research, microscopy and coursework in Pathology/Histology, RNA ISH/ FISH, multiplexing analysis of biomarkers are preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and conduct laboratory experiments, maintain appropriate study documentation
- Support the Director, Scientific Project Management throughout the duration of projects, including communication of Sponsor and Director updates for purposes of technical coordination of project requirements, developing study design, and assisting with proposal writing.
- Coordinate with various departments for test and control slides, patient samples, and communicate with the sponsor for purposes of technical coordination of project requirements
- Stain tissue samples using immunohistochemistry (IHC) techniques, score samples, generate reports detailing scoring data and experimental results for study sponsors (customers)
- Provide technical guidance and oversight to laboratory personnel assigned to assist in the execution of project responsibilities.
- Ensure appropriate lab compliance with institutional and accrediting agency regulations.
