Position Overview:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Middle School Physical Education Teacher to join our team. This role involves creating engaging and challenging lessons that promote physical fitness, sportsmanship, teamwork, and healthy lifestyle choices for middle school students. The ideal candidate will foster a safe, motivating, and inclusive learning environment while helping students develop the skills and mindset needed for lifelong physical activity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement dynamic physical education lessons that align with state and national standards, focusing on fitness, motor skills, and teamwork.
- Track student progress through assessments and provide ongoing feedback to support skill development.
- Ensure a positive and safe learning environment, maintaining discipline and managing student behavior effectively during physical activities.
- Provide guidance to students on building healthy habits, sportsmanship, and teamwork skills.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and engage in school events and activities that promote physical fitness and wellness.
- Organize school-wide fitness events, field days, and ensure PE equipment is properly maintained and stored.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Physical Education or a related field (preferred).
- Valid Florida Teaching Certificate in Middle School Physical Education or eligibility to obtain one.
- Strong understanding of physical education curriculum and motor skill development for middle school students.
- Ability to design creative, age-appropriate lessons that engage diverse learners.
- Excellent communication, classroom management, and interpersonal skills.
