Position Overview:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic Middle School Social Studies Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will inspire students to connect historical, political, cultural, and geographical concepts to real-world situations while fostering critical thinking and collaboration. This role offers an opportunity to engage students through innovative, hands-on, and technology-driven lessons.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop engaging, standards-aligned lessons incorporating project-based, inquiry-based, and interdisciplinary learning.
- Lead real-world projects, using technology and simulations to deepen student understanding.
- Create a safe, inclusive classroom that encourages critical thinking, collaboration, and growth.
- Implement diverse assessments and provide constructive feedback to guide student growth.
- Use multimedia, virtual simulations, and interactive software to enhance learning.
- Work across subjects to create interdisciplinary lessons, fostering connections between Social Studies and other areas of study.
- Lead or participate in clubs or projects, encouraging students to apply their learning beyond the classroom.
- Stay current with best practices in Social Studies education and actively contribute to the school community.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Social Studies, Education, or related field.
- Valid middle school Social Studies teaching certification (grades 6-8).
- At least 2 years of teaching experience, preferably in a middle school or STEM-focused setting.
- Proficiency in technology integration and lesson design.
Strong communication skills and a passion for Social Studies education
