COMPANY:
Discovery Solutions seeks applicants for a Technician-Animal Care.
LOCATION:
Winslow, ME
SUMMARY:
To provide general poultry husbandry for the birds (chickens and turkeys) at the Winslow site. This role will primarily work Monday – Friday. Additional hours may be required as needed.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Provide appropriate care for the animals retained at the facilities and maintain/monitor the proper environmental conditions (temperature, feed, water, etc.).
· Requires animal enclosures cleaning and disinfection, minor paint touch ups and other minor maintenance.
· Strictly adhere to biosecurity measures in place and maintain the facility in a controlled and contaminant free manner through cleaning and disinfection.
· Maintain cleanliness of the animal facilities, in a regulatory inspection condition at all times.
· Maintain accurate records in accordance with USDA regulations.
· Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have a minimum of a high-school diploma or equivalent
· Previous experience with animal care/husbandry, preferably with poultry
· Excellent communication skills
· Flexibility in adapting methods and skills.
· Motivation to work independently as well as in a cooperative manner with others.
· Shift is full time, Monday – Friday, 7AM – 3:30PM.
· Weekend and holiday work may be required.
- Showering throughout the animal facilities is required, multiple times per day.
