Content Operations is ultimately responsible for successfully delivering Disney’s entertainment and sports content to millions of people every day. This involves developing, operating, and managing a global content supply chain – the myriad of steps involved from taking a finalized TV show/movie, or live piece of content, from inside Disney to audiences around the globe, in their preferred language and format. This team also manages technology operations in Latin America, Europe and Asia Pacific.
Job Summary:
The Resource Coordinator I is responsible for various planning and scheduling functions for the Network Operations team. These include, but are not limited to: communication with internal and external partners, planning and booking of facilities as well as the scheduling of personnel for all networks and platforms that originate from the Bristol, CT facility. In addition, the Resource Coordinator I will provide administrative support through reports on specific planning initiatives or other roles as deemed necessary by management.
Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:
- Generate monthly and daily assignment schedules for Network Operations based on established guidelines and programming schedules, while maintaining accuracy of daily personnel and facilities schedules to ensure all necessary network functions are staffed appropriately.
- Monitor and implement changes issued by Programming or Production and consult with management to adjust staffing needs as necessary. Communicate staffing and program changes to affected groups or individuals.
- Interprets complex event traffic information; follow up analysis and problem solving.
- Expected to maintain reports for the Network Operations group to be utilized in corporate settings for planning specific budgets and other related business.
- Evaluate and recommend staffing options for events and to compensate for illness, vacations or other absences.
- Demonstrate basic knowledge of ESPN and ABC programming and of the specific jobs that fall within assigned scheduling responsibilities, plus an in-depth knowledge of ESPN’s and ABC’s production scheduling procedures and systems.
- May participate in special event coverage or projects as necessary.
Required Education, Experience/Skills/Training:
- A minimum of one year of operations and/or resource planning or scheduling experience at the large market or network level.
- Must demonstrate ability to perform tasks under tight deadlines, work independently and manage simultaneous projects.
- Knowledge of relevant scheduling software applications.
- Strong computer experience with a proficiency in Windows based PC applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Solid communication skills.
- Strong organization and planning skills
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Flexibility to alter shifts/days off to accommodate projects and departmental objectives.
- Must be willing and able to adapt to a constantly changing environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Communications or related field
