The Content Development Specialist for Disney Institute will join the content development team dedicated to designing, creating, and continuously improving Disney Institute content for specific product lines, including Professional Development Courses (PDCs) and Private Learning Events (PLEs). This team crafts and tells the compelling stories behind Disney Approach to service, leadership, and employee engagement. In this role, you will provide leadership, project management, technical expertise, and the ability to identify new content and enhance existing materials. Aligning content with instructional objectives, you will design and develop both in-person and virtual-based instruction, creating technology-enhanced and audience-appropriate assets, and assessing learning outcomes. You will ensure all project management and content development activities are completed on time, within budget, and with high quality, while researching best practices from the Walt Disney Company, especially from our parks and resorts worldwide, to develop compelling stories and examples to share with our clients.

The Content Development Specialist for Disney Institute will report to the Content Manager and sits in Celebration, FL.

You Will Do/Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead production schedules to ensure all content and materials are delivered on time and in scope.

  • Build and edit in-person and virtual-based course assets for accuracy and quality, ensuring content reflects current technology-enhanced delivery methods and contemporary business theory and practice with relevant examples.

  • Create blended learning journeys through instructor-led (in-person and virtual) and immersive in-park experiences.

  • Align learning goals and methodologies to create technology-enhanced and audience-appropriate assets.

  • Engage key internal cast members, subject matter experts, content specialists, writers, multimedia partners, as well as external vendors, suppliers, and contractors during development.

  • Collaborate and consult internally with Disney Institute Delivery Team members as needed to understand and develop broad approaches to the needs of clients.

  • Work with clients and participants to assess needs and capture feedback in the piloting and testing of content.

  • Balance multiple tasks and projects while incorporating trends and consumer insights on the usefulness and relevancy of the assets and content

  • Ensure brand standards are maintained for Disney Institute content and client-branded materials. Build participant and facilitator materials.

  • Provide initial training for Disney Institute Facilitators as needed.

  • Develop reusable tools to support Engagement Managers in client engagements.

  • Monitor the delivery of content for quality and efficiency using a variety of evaluation methods.

  • Periodic on-stage delivery of training, pilots, premieres, and client programs as assigned.

You Will Have/Basic Qualifications:

  • 4 years Disney Leadership Experience, or related professional experience

  • Experience in Training/Learning & Development and Adult Learning, with a strong background in applying adult learning principles and organizational improvement strategies.

  • Experience in delivering training, pilots, premieres, and client programs in a live setting. Experience creating learning assets such as facilitation and participant guides as well as content decks and other materials.

  • Experience in Project Management, capable of leading detailed and organized projects to meet deadlines.

  • Skilled in reviewing business strategies and translating them into effective learning solutions.

  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to collaborate with partners at all levels.

  • Experience in collaborating and maintaining relationships with internal teams and external vendors, suppliers, and contractors.

  • Ability to represent the Disney brand credibly to external business clients at all levels.

  • Capable of working independently in both autonomous and structured environments. High level of organization and ability to handle multiple projects and clients at once with little direction.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2 years experience as an Instructional Designer or in related roles such as Organizational Design Manager, Educator, Business Consultant, or Video Producer.

  • 1 years experience as a Facilitator at Disney or similar professional experience in facilitating meetings for objectives like content design or information gathering.

  • Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD) through ATD.

  • Experience in writing and localizing content for diverse cultures and languages worldwide.

  • Experience using Adobe Suite, InDesign, Workfront, and Apple products.

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Content/Instructional Design, Organizational Design, Education, Learning and Development, Business Administration, Multimedia Design or Video Production or related field or equivalent work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Content/Instructional Design, Organizational Design, Education, Learning and Development, Business Administration, Multimedia Design or Video Production or related field or equivalent experience.
