What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operations Leadership Development Manager position at Disneyland Resort?
This position oversees the delivery of Disney Leadership Essentials (DLE) and other Operations Leadership training programs at Disneyland Resort. The Leadership Development Manager will oversee the delivery and logistics of DLE and all Operations Leadership programs. This role will be responsible for guiding, inspiring, and providing feedback to program participants in partnership with Operations Leadership, including facilitating Operations-specific leadership classes. The Leadership Development Manager will prepare and host senior leader panelist training sessions with key departments and groups (e.g., Operations Leadership, Human Resources, Casting, Disney University, Labor Relations, Employee Relations).
You will report to the Sr Operations Training Manager – Program Design.
Responsibilities/ You Will:
Training
- Promote a “Guest service excellence” approach for all client and partner interactions and product support.
- Proven passion and dedication to diversity and inclusion, including inviting varied perspectives, encouraging in inclusive work environment, and supporting workforce diversity.
- Provide mentorship support to recently promoted Salaried Leaders.
- Lead with a continual process improvement approach to optimize connection points, process, and product.
- Direct work of Operations Training Specialists who assist with logistics and day-to-day delivery of Leadership Programs.
Communication & Planning
- Ability to communicate and interact with partners of varying levels.
- Integrate information with Training Managers in the operation to communicate leadership program specifics and solicit information from the Training Managers pertaining to onboarding itineraries and operational needs.
Facilitation
- Cultivate and create a safe and exciting atmosphere for participants.
- Support Cast and seek opportunities to enhance service and performance delivery.
- Deliver training programs with a dynamic, energetic, and warm style.
- Tailor content and delivery approach for hourly and salaried audiences.
- Lead the evaluation of training/development program effectiveness; use evaluation data to revise/recommend changes in instructional objectives/methods to meet expectations of an ever changing operation.
- Assess, collect, and analyze training data to measure, empower and support performance improvement recommendations and solutions.
Basic Qualifications/ You Will Have:
- 5 years of experience leading an operation
- Demonstrated facilitation and presentation skills in front of large audiences
- Flexibility with schedule (including the occasional need to work nights and weekends)
- Agility with required program changes to meet needs of the operation
- Partnering, consulting, problem solving, and decision-making skills
- Coaching and mentoring skills
- Process, organization, and time management skills including balancing and prioritizing multiple priorities with competing timelines
- Professional and effective verbal and written communication
- Ability to build collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to identify, influence, and implement opportunities for improvement
- Manage confidential information discreetly and appropriately
- Proactive and take ownership of tasks and see them through to completion
- Work with minimal direction, relying on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish assigned goals
Preferred Qualifications/

Education:
Bachelor’s degree or demonstrated equivalent experience is required

The hiring range for this position in location is $69,946 to $93,830 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
