Job description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and manage payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate payroll records, reports, and files.
  • Ensure timely and accurate payroll tax filings and deposits.
  • Handle payroll discrepancies, inquiries, and issues from employees.
  • Collaborate with HR and finance departments to ensure accurate employee data and payroll information.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Conduct regular audits of payroll procedures to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Manage payroll software and systems, ensuring they are up-to-date and functioning properly.
  • Provide support during audits and respond to payroll-related questions from external auditors.
  • Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll processing.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency with payroll software and systems; experience with [specific payroll software] is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Certification in payroll (e.g., CPP, FPC) is preferred but not required.

Pay: From $20.00 per hour


Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
