SUMMARY:

The Shop Foreman will oversee daily operations across multiple departments, ensuring projects are completed on time, safely, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and a proactive approach to managing teams and resources. The Shop Foreman will coordinate labor schedules, monitor equipment maintenance, uphold safety standards, and foster effective communication between departments. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required to communicate effectively with a diverse workforce. Additionally, the Shop Foreman will supervise department leads and machine center leads with large teams of 30 employees to ensure the seamless operation of all production processes. Knowledge of hazmat reporting and local compliance regulations is essential to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise department leads across casework, millwork, metal fabrication, paint, powder coating, machine centers, and trade show booth construction.
  • Oversee the performance of machine center leads, ensuring production targets are met, machines operate efficiently, and workflows are optimized.
  • Manage and coordinate large teams of 30 employees across multiple departments, fostering a productive and positive work environment.
  • Ensure seamless collaboration among departments to meet deadlines and project specifications.
  • Schedule labor efficiently, balancing workloads and optimizing productivity.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for department and machine center leads, providing guidance and conflict resolution.
  • Communicate clearly with team members in English and Spanish to ensure understanding of tasks, schedules, and expectations.
  • Develop and oversee daily/weekly production schedules to meet project timelines.
  • Monitor progress, troubleshoot delays, and adjust resources as needed.
  • Collaborate with project managers to ensure clear priorities and deliverables.
  • Oversee the maintenance and safe operation of shop equipment, including CNC machines and other specialized machinery.
  • Coordinate repairs, preventative maintenance, and inspections to minimize downtime.
  • Ensure compliance with equipment operation standards and procedures.
  • Champion a culture of safety; enforce safety protocols and training across the shop floor.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and address hazards immediately.
  • Ensure all team members adhere to company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of hazardous material (hazmat) reporting requirements and ensure proper documentation and compliance.
  • Monitor and enforce adherence to local compliance regulations regarding environmental, health, and safety standards.
  • Coordinate proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Utilize software and tools for scheduling, reporting, and inventory management.
  • Maintain accurate records of labor hours, maintenance logs, hazmat logs, and safety incidents.
  • Report shop performance metrics to leadership and propose process improvements.
  • Communicate effectively with internal departments, vendors, and leadership teams in both English and Spanish.
  • Ensure all projects meet or exceed quality expectations and company standards.
  • Review completed work, provide feedback, and implement corrective actions where necessary.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 5 years in a supervisory role within manufacturing, custom fabrication, or a similar environment.
  • Proven experience managing and supervising large teams of 30 employees across diverse departments.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical training or certification in related trades is a plus.
  • Must be bilingual in English and Spanish to communicate effectively with team members.
  • Strong computer proficiency (MS Office, scheduling software, ERP systems).
  • Understanding of millwork, metal shop processes, CNC machine centers, and production workflows.
  • Knowledge of hazmat reporting and handling hazardous materials in compliance with local regulations.
  • Familiarity with local safety and environmental compliance regulations.
