Position Overview:
As a Financial Analyst Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in the multifamily real estate industry. You will be responsible for supporting financial modeling, analysis, and reporting for potential acquisitions, existing portfolios, and development projects. This internship is designed to provide exposure to key aspects of financial analysis and real estate investment, offering a unique opportunity to develop skills in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development of financial models for multifamily real estate projects, including pro forma analyses, cash flow projections, and return calculations.
- Support the evaluation of potential acquisitions by conducting market research, property due diligence, and financial performance analysis.
- Analyze operating data from existing properties to assess financial performance and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Collaborate with team members to prepare investment memos, presentations, and reports for internal stakeholders and investors.
- Conduct sensitivity analyses to evaluate the impact of various financial and market assumptions on project performance.
- Assist in preparing quarterly and annual financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Real Estate or a related field.
- Strong analytical skills with a solid understanding of financial statements, valuation, and financial modeling.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with financial modeling is required; experience with real estate modeling is a plus.
- Familiarity with market research tools, real estate financial metrics (e.g., cap rates, IRR, NOI), and industry benchmarks is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks with accuracy and efficiency.
- Self-starter with a desire to learn and contribute in a team-oriented environment.
