ELECTRONICS – SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

Job Title : Senior Accountant (Contract, Hybrid)

Location : San Diego, CA

Hourly Rate : $60 - $70

Position Overview :

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our electronics company on a contract basis for 6 to 9 months. In this hybrid role, you will leverage your solid accounting background to oversee key financial processes, support month-end closings, and conduct detailed cost analysis specific to the electronics industry. The ideal candidate will be proficient in advanced ERP systems (such as SAP or Oracle), possess exceptional analytical skills, and have hands-on experience with the unique financial challenges presented by electronics manufacturing and distribution.

Key Responsibilities :

General Ledger & Month-End Close : Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accurate and timely month-end and year-end closing processes.
Financial Reporting & Analysis : Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, providing actionable insights to support strategic business decisions.
Cost Accounting & Inventory Management : Perform detailed cost analysis on electronic components and products; manage inventory valuation and variance analysis to optimize cost structures.
Process Improvement : Identify opportunities to enhance accounting procedures, implement process improvements, and integrate automation to streamline workflows.
Audit & Compliance : Assist with external audits and tax preparations, ensuring full compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
Systems & Data Management : Utilize ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills to manage financial data and drive accurate reporting.

Qualifications :

Experience : 5-7 years of accounting experience, with a strong preference for candidates who have worked within the electronics, consumer products, or technology industries.

Education : Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification is a plus.

Technical Proficiency : Advanced experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with financial reporting software is advantageous.

Industry-Specific Knowledge : Solid understanding of cost accounting principles, inventory management, and the financial dynamics unique to the electronics sector, including component pricing and margin analysis.

Analytical & Detail-Oriented : Exceptional attention to detail with robust analytical skills to interpret complex financial data and drive informed business decisions.

Communication & Collaboration : Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across cross-functional teams.

Adaptability : Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment with emerging technologies and processes.
