A key firm in the NJ market is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its bankruptcy practice. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney looking to gain valuable hands-on experience in Chapter 11 and Chapter 7 bankruptcy cases, debtor/creditor rights, and preference and fraudulent conveyance litigation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent debtors, creditors, trustees, receivers, and assignees in bankruptcy cases (Chapter 7 and Chapter 11).
- Assist in prosecuting and defending preference and fraudulent conveyance actions.
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and responses related to bankruptcy and commercial litigation matters.
- Conduct legal research and provide strategic analysis on complex legal issues in corporate restructuring and bankruptcy cases.
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and courts to facilitate case progression.
- Collaborate with the team to manage cases and projects efficiently.
Required Qualifications:
- Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the New Jersey State Bar (NY a plus).
- Strong understanding of bankruptcy law, including Chapter 11 and Chapter 7 proceedings.
- 2-5 years experience in debtor/creditor rights, corporate restructuring, and/or commercial litigation is highly preferred.
Salary : $120,000 - $150,000
