District 19 Community Services Board, located in Petersburg, Virginia, is seeking a Full time LPN who is upbeat, has a professional attitude, and a willingness to learn.
Incumbent LPN will conduct nursing psychiatric assessments, assess physical health needs, and make appropriate referrals to community physicians/NPs. Incumbent LPN will provide management and administration of medication in conjunction with the psychiatrist/PMHNP and provide a range of treatment, lab services, and support services. Incumbent LPN must have a strong commitment to the right and ability of each person with a severe and persistent mental illness to live in normal community residences, work in market jobs, and have access to helpful, adequate, competent, and continuous support and services. Must have strong communication and documentation skills
Work is performed under the general direction of the Director of Nursing.
Required: 1 year of Psychiatric Nursing experience as an LPN.
Must be able to administer intramuscular medication, supportive counseling, have knowledge of psychotropic medication uses, side effects, and potential interactions. Knowledge of community-based services required as well as some out of office work.
Travel to satellite clinics required, with agency vehicle provided.
Must have basic computer skills.
Must have a current State of Virginia license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Required to obtain and maintain CPR certification. Must possess a valid VA Driver’s License with a point balance of -6 or higher on the motor vehicle record.
Must have the ability to tolerate light lifting, bending, stooping, reaching, and climbing stairs.
This position is a grade is S-C7. Salary range $50,068.00 - $56,329.00.
Prefer a minimum of one year of work experience in an inpatient or outpatient psychiatric setting. Experience in electronic health records systems preferred. Phlebotomy certification preferred but not required. Position requires pre-employment extensive background check and drug screening, to include a driver's license report if applicable.
