AUTOPSY TECHNICIAN - District 20 Medical Examiner's Office
Naples, Florida
- Full-Time Autopsy Technician with rotating on-call weekends and holidays

Preferred Education and Experience
- Forensics, forensic anthropology, forensic investigations, forensic photography, or experience assisting at a medical examiner's office or hospital
Job Description
- Assist medical examiner with autopsies on weekdays, rotating weekends and rotating holidays
- Must be able to work rotating on-call weekends and holidays, as well as overtime, as needed
- Must be available to work during and following county, state or national crises or disasters
- Prepare autopsy suite and body for autopsy, take photographs, x-rays, clean after autopsy
- Responsible for record keeping, labeling, storing and maintaining chain of evidence
- Must be able to move a 200-pound deceased person unassisted
- Must be able to read and write English proficiently and must be computer literate
- Must properly communicate verbally and in writing
- Excellent organizational skills required
- Able to work under pressure and maintain composure and a good attitude
- Must be able to learn and understand medical and legal terminology
- Must show respect for the deceased, their families, co-workers, supervisors and other agency personnel
- Must be flexible, assist co-workers and able to work agreeably in a team environment
- Carry out other morgue duties, as assigned
Salary
- Starting salary $25.00/hourly. Negotiable with experience

- The District Twenty Medical Examiner is a contracted service. Employees are not county or state employees.
