What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chief Financial Officer position at District 49?
School District 49 is searching for a proven, innovative leader to join our team as the Chief Financial Officer. The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will serve as the district's lead administrator for financial operations. The CFO creates, communicates, and implements the district's vision, mission, strategic plan, and overall organizational direction for the business office.
The CFO position has sole responsibility for developing, administering, monitoring, and coordinating the district budget; initiating requisitions; participating and recommending all subsidiary budgets for superintendent and board approval; developing, coordinating, monitoring and administering budgets for departments assigned to CFO supervision.
Highly qualified candidates will demonstrate both breadth and depth of experience in finance, payroll, risk & benefits, information technology, procurement & purchasing, exceptional collaboration skills, advanced communication skills and a continuous improvement mindset.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance expected; Master’s degree preferred or acceptable in lieu of certificate preferences listed under Certificates, Licenses & Registrations. Significant, successful experience in school finance leadership may qualify a candidate in lieu of degrees or certifications.
