Lower Merion School District is hiring a Director of Human Resources. The Director of Human Resources is responsible for overseeing all aspects of HR management in the District, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training and development, labor relations, compensation and benefits, and compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
The Director oversees a staff of six HR professionals and reports directly to the Assistant to the Superintendent for District Administration. This is a cabinet-level position.
Salary based on experience and skills and per negotiated personal services contract. Benefits consistent with the Act 93 Agreement ("LMOSA").
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in Human Resources, Master's Degree, or Law Degree preferred. SHRM certification preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years progressive experience in human resources management or relevant field or experience.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a high performing HR team.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate organizational goals into HR initiatives and a proving track record of implementing HR best practices and driving organizational change.
- Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Key Duties:
- Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the District's mission and vision
- Oversee employee recruitment and selection process, including sourcing candidates, conducting interviews, and making decisions.
- Manage employee relations, including resolving conflicts, providing counseling, coaching, or discipline.
- Manage formal labor relations including grievances, arbitrations, contract negotiation.
- Engage in performance management to ensure fair and consistent evaluation of employee performance.
- Deliver district-wide training programs required for legal compliance or skill enhancement.
- Oversee compensation and benefits program in collaboration with business office.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment laws and regulation.
- Work collaboratively with District's leadership team on HR matters and needs.
- Lead and monitor HR staff.
- Oversee HR technology and data procedures.
- Monitor and analyze HR metrics to measure the effectiveness of HR initiatives.
- Monitor and manage employee conduct consistent with District policies and procedures.
- Other duties as may be assigned by the Superintendent or Assistant to the Superintendent.
