Overview

The District Health Department 10 is seeking a skilled and compassionate Adolescent Mental Health Counselor to join our team at the Wexford Adolescent Wellness Center. This dynamic professional will provide counseling services to adolescents, empowering them to achieve optimal mental, emotional, and physical well-being.

Salary

Pay is based on licensure, experience, and qualifications. Limited License starting wage is $28.04/hr, while Fully Licensed starts at $31.04/hr.

Job Description

This position involves working independently and collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to deliver care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of services. Key responsibilities include:

• Conducting comprehensive psychosocial assessments to identify sources of issues or problems and determining appropriate paths to optimum mental, emotional, and physical health.
• Developing and implementing comprehensive treatment plans in collaboration with the adolescent health team.
• Providing short-term, goal-oriented counseling to address identified needs and explore available options, involving family members as necessary.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must possess a Master's degree from an accredited school of social work, counseling, or a related program. A Licensed Clinical Master of Social Work or Licensed Professional Counselor by the State of Michigan and eligibility for third-party insurance payments are also required. Two-three years of experience providing adolescent/family social work in a community health setting is preferred.
