We are seeking a Temporary Accounting Specialist Trainer to assist our Business Services team with training and support. This temporary role is instrumental in developing team members to provide accurate and efficient service in Accounting Specialist positions.
Position Details
- Title: Temporary Accounting Specialist Trainer
- Duration: Not to exceed 90 calendar days (up to 192 total hours)
- Schedule: Variable; determined based on department needs
- Compensation: $45.00 per hour
- Reports to: Director of Finance
Job Goal
Support the Director of Finance in training newly hired Accounting Specialists, ensuring a seamless transition and effective team performance.
Essential Requirements
To perform this role successfully, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years in an Accounting Specialist or equivalent position.
- Comprehensive knowledge of SFSD Business Office or similar school district business practices, procedures, accounting, reporting, and bookkeeping.

Skills:
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities to convey knowledge effectively during training.
- Capacity to identify areas needing additional training and areas where independence can be achieved.

Confidentiality:
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.

Physical Requirements:
- Moderate physical stamina; occasional lifting up to 35 lbs.
- Prolonged sitting; frequent standing, walking, and bending.
- Extended use of office equipment, including telephones and computers.

Other:
- Adaptability to alternative requirements as deemed appropriate by the Director of Finance or Superintendent.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Under the guidance of the Director of Finance, key responsibilities include:
- Training newly hired Accounting Specialists in alignment with SFSD policies and procedures.
- Providing feedback and progress updates to the Director of Finance, identifying areas needing additional support.
- Assisting with other tasks as deemed appropriate.
