Preschool Special Education Itinerant Teacher
Qualifications: Applicant must hold appropriate SC certification or have applied for appropriate SC certification in Special Education, Multi-Categorical.
Reports To: Executive Director of Special Education
Job Summary:
A special education itinerant teacher (SEIT) provides specialized individual or group instruction and/or indirect services to preschool students (ages 3-5) with Individual Education Programs (IEPs) in a variety of community and school based settings.
SEIT services are individualized to the needs of the child, and may include:
- Implementation of the child’s Individualized Education Program (IEP)
- Implementation, coordination, and monitoring of the child’s behavior management program
- Collaboration with preschool directors and teachers
- Coordination of the child’s educational programs with teachers, therapists and parents
- Parent trainings, observations and home visits

190 days per school year; Salary based on District Scale for Teachers
Evaluation
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Certified Staff
Primary Location: District Resource Center and Community Preschools/Daycares
Salary Range: Per Year
