Candidates processing a current NYS Certification in the appropriate subject area will be given preference. Pending certifications meeting the following conditions may be accepted:
- The appropriate NYS certification will be issued by September 1st
- A letter from the college stating the applicant is expected to have their certification by Sept 1st ♦OR♦ an unofficial transcript and exam results with a passing grade should be attached to the application.

- This is an anticipated vacancy only. There may or may not be an available vacancy.
- Vacancies will be filled internally and then, if a vacancy is still available, external candidates will be considered.
- Internal placements and transfers will take place on or around April 30.
- All qualified external candidates will participate in the screening process which will be conducted during this posting.
- The screening process will include a short virtual interview with a director.
- Screening results will be communicated within 7-10 business days.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid NYS certification in Elementary (K-6)
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for instruction of K-6 grade curriculum. This includes creating a positive learning environment, developing long and short-range plans, implementing plans effectively, formative and summative assessment of student progress, and a number of administrative duties such as attendance, parent communication, etc.
ESSENTIAL CORE CHARACTERISTICS:
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Common Core Standards
- Demonstrated knowledge of curriculum and curriculum development including planning, implementation and evaluation of materials, supplies and lessons.
- Demonstrated knowledge of effective classroom management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work with students of all ability levels, differentiate instruction and use a variety of teaching techniques (co-teaching)
- Demonstrated evidence of the ability to reflect and contemplate on one's teaching allowing for growth and excellence.
- Demonstrated evidence to use data and assessment tools to identify needs, assess student progress and performance, plan instruction to improve performance and achievement of all learners.
- Demonstrated evidence of optimism, enthusiasm, compassion, warmth, understanding and sensitivity to all students.
- Demonstrated evidence to maintain high levels of student engagement.
- Demonstrated evidence of effective communication with students, teachers, parents, and administrators.
- Demonstrated evidence of effective interpersonal skills with students, faculty, support staff, and parents.
PREFERRED CHARACTERISTICS:
- Experience Common Core Learning Standards.
- Experience with using technology as a tool for instruction.

SALARY: $41,040-$52,800
Per WTA Contract
