Qualifications:
- Must hold valid Michigan Teaching Certificate
- ESL (NS) Endorsement - Required
- Ability to work well with adults
- Ability to work well with children, teaching experience preferred
- Ability to modify curriculum according to student abilities
- Good communication skills
- Good attendance record
- Flexible
- Team player, work well with other building/district staff
- Punctual
Job Duties:
- Oversee the district ELD program
- Communicate effectively with administration
- Manage the ELD district budget
- Plan for ELD staffing
- Oversee for the district the W-APT and WIDA Access assessments
- Teach students K-12 English proficiency skills
- Administer the W-APT and WIDA Access assessments on a timely manner
- Keep good student records
- Turn in required paperwork on time
- Coordinate with classroom teachers
