Fort Leavenworth USD 207 is currently accepting applications for Secondary Teachers (grades 6-9) in all content areas for the 2025-2026 School Year. Qualified candidates must currently hold a valid Kansas teaching license, or be reasonably assured of holding a Kansas teaching license with the appropriate subject area endorsement prior to July 1, 2025, to be eligible for consideration.

 

Summary of Essential Job Duties (Professional Responsibilities, not an exhaustive list)

  1. Participate in professional growth activities, such as workshops, organizations, and/or graduate school.
  2. Perform duties and tasks, both assigned and voluntary.
  3. Recognize an obligation to understand and comply with administrative policies and procedures.
  4. Use appropriate channels of communication for problem solving.
  5. Complete reports and records with punctuality and accuracy.
  6. Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, parents, and co-workers

  6. Communicate clearly and effectively with students
  7. Demonstrate ability to organize and manage a classroom
  8. Apply appropriate discipline techniques by dealing fairly, firmly, and consistently with students

  1. Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time
  2. Ability to enter data into a computer, to see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids

  4. Ability to speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in normal classrooms, outdoors and on the telephone
  5. Physical agility to lift up to 25 pounds to shoulder height and 50 pounds to waist height
  6. Ability to bend, stoop, sit on the floor, climb stairs, walk and reach overhead
