The Utica City School District is in need of volunteer coaches for the following Spring sports:

Volunteer Expectations/Responsibilities:
- The appointed coach of the team has complete responsibility for the team.
- The volunteer assistant will be permitted to work with the team only in the presence of teh coach.
- Professional conduct is expected at all times.
- Student atheltes are expected to address assistance by Mr., Mrs., Ms., or Coach (no first names).
- Dialogue with officials will be the responsibility of the coach.
- Good sportsmanship is to be exhibited at all times.
- Loyalty to the program is expected.
- Loyalty to the coach is expected.
- Improper language is not acceptable.
- Be aware that when you work with the team, you are a representative of the Utica City School District.
- First Aid Certification for coaches, CPR/AED training in universal precautions for handling blood and body fluids as well as enrollment in coach certification courses.
- The volunteer is required to be fingerprinted.
- The coach is repsonsible for the actions of the volunteer assistant/coach.
- Must have NYS Coaching certification. See below for further information.
- Volunteer positions are unpaid.
Qualifications:
N.Y.S. Certification as a Teacher AND
- First Aid
- CPR
- Concussion Management Course
- CDC HEADS UP(link is external)
- NFHS Concussion in Sports(link is external)
- Coaching Coursework
OR
NYS Certified Coach: (Must apply for the certification through TEACH)
- First Aid
- CPR
- Concussion Management Course
- CDC HEADS UP(link is external)
- NFHS Concussion in Sports(link is external)
- Child Abuse workshop
- School Violence workshop
- DASA Training
- Fingerprint clearance
- Coaching Coursework
