Primary Purpose:

Coordinate the accurate collection and reporting of District Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS) data within the Texas Education Agency (TEA) timeline/guidelines.

 

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

High school diploma or GED

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Knowledge of the PEIMS Data Standards

Knowledge of the Ed-Fi system

Extensive knowledge of the Student Attendance Accounting Handbook and the TEC Chapter 37 guidelines.

Knowledge of Student Information Systems, such as Skyward

Experience with computer mainframes and computer software

Ability to maintain accurate and auditable records

Ability to use personal computer and software to develop spreadsheets, databases, and do word

processing

Proficient keyboarding and file maintenance skills

Ability to meet established deadlines

Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Experience:

Experience in PEIMS Collection methods
Experience in Student Information/Financial Management/HR Software
Experience developing training materials
Experience in providing training to large and small groups

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

Records and Reports

  1. Coordinate the collection, integration, and formatting of all data required for PEIMS submission according to PEIMS Data Standards.
  2. Work cooperatively with campus, business office, and personnel office staff to collect, organize, and format data required to submit district PEIMS data in a timely manner.
  3. Run edits, reports, and verification checks on data to ensure accuracy of information.
  4. Distribute edits and reports to appropriate staff for analysis, verification, and correction.
  5. Submit complete and accurate PEIMS data in Texas Education Agency (TEA)-prescribed format to education service center (ESC) for processing using computer terminal or personal computer.
  6. Verify data submitted to TEA and submit corrections in a timely manner.
  7. Responsible for assisting with OCR Bi-annual data and reporting processes.
  8. Coordinate the district’s attendance eligibility and accounting procedures.
  9. Oversee attendance data input responsibilities and assist in determining residency status of new students.
  10. Coordinate the collection of data required for PEIMS submission according to PEIMS Data Standards.
  11. Share responsibility with the district’s programmer for all software applications; has primary responsibility for software applications regarding grade reporting, scheduling, and attendance.
  12. Work in collaboration with human resources office in preparing official documents.
  13. Implement the policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy in the area of pupils services.
  14. Compile, maintain and file all reports, records, and other documents required.
  15. Submit complete and accurate PEIMS data to Texas Education Agency in prescribed format
  16. Adhere to the district’s safety policies and procedures
  17. Maintain confidentiality in the conduct of district business.

Training and Technical Support

  1. Provide training and support to campuses and to business and personnel office staff responsible for processing PEIMS data.
  2. Receive PEIMS-related information from ESC and TEA and disseminate to other staff in a timely manner, including updates to PEIMS Data Standards.
  3. Attend all regional PEIMS workshops and disseminate information to appropriate staff.
  4. Provide support/troubleshooting in all areas of student services software.

  1. Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy.
  2. Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required.

Personal computer, printer, calculator, fax machine, and copier.

Ability to perform mathematical calculations. Repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of computer.

Since these duties are only one of the key functions performed, the wage/hour status will be determined by the composite responsibilities of the position on a district-by-district basis.

Salary : $63,778 - $70,156
