What are the responsibilities and job description for the Substitute Teacher/Substitute Teacher's Aide position at Districtwide?
REPORTS TO: BUILDING PRINCIPAL
SUBSTITUTE TEACHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To instruct students in accordance with the educational philosophy, course objectives, and curriculum of the District
- To provide maximum learning opportunities for students in accordance with program objectives and each ‘student‘s abilities, interests, and needs
- To continuously develop his/her professional knowledge, skills, attitudes, and behaviors in order to improve the educational opportunities of his/her studentS.
- Instructs students in accordance with the District's philosophy of education, policies, and curriculum
SUBSTITUTE AIDE RESPONSIBILITIES:
The primary purpose of instructional paraprofessionals is to support both teachers and students in activities directly related to education. Essential functions of instructional paraprofessionals include:
- Assist in the education and social development of students under the direction and guidance of general or special education teachers.
- Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans for students and monitor progress.
- Provide support for identified students both inside and outside the classroom to enable them to participate in activities.
Substitute Teachers require an Associate's Degree or 60 college credits
Substitute Aides require a High School Diploma
