SUMMARY
The Accounting Coordinator supports the Finance Department by performing key tasks related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, and financial reporting. This role ensures timely and accurate financial transactions, maintains compliance with company policies and regulatory standards, and supports month-end and year-end closing processes.
This is a full-time and on-site position located in Coral Gables, FL.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Accounts Payable and Receivable: Process invoices, ensure timely vendor payments, and follow up on outstanding receivables.
- General Ledger Maintenance: Reconcile accounts, prepare journal entries, and support month-end and year-end closing tasks.
- Payment Processing and Financial Records Management: Process payments, manage incoming and outgoing funds in SAP, conduct bank reconciliations, and handle customer/vendor deposits, Letters of Credit (LC), rebates, and commissions.
- Credit Check Processing: Conduct client credit checks and analyze credit references.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare financial reports, budgets, forecasts, and administrative expense summaries. Generate reports such as cash flow statements and expense analyses.
- Compliance and Audit Support: Ensure compliance with tax regulations, assist with audits, maintain accurate records, and manage business partner profiles in the system.
- Cross-Department Coordination: Collaborate with various departments to ensure data accuracy, resolve discrepancies, and respond to accounting-related inquiries.
- Project Completion: Work extended hours as necessary to complete all pending projects.
- Business Decision-Making: Make relevant and crucial business decisions on a discretionary basis.
- Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as assigned or as become evident.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field; 2 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SAP, and financial reporting software.
· Strong knowledge of accounts payable/receivable, general ledger maintenance, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting.
· Experience ensuring compliance with tax regulations, managing audits, and maintaining secure financial records.
· Ability to collect, research, and analyze data, with attention to detail and accuracy in financial processes.
· Skilled in identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving financial discrepancies while maintaining accuracy.
· Strong written and verbal communication; able to collaborate across departments and respond to inquiries professionally.
· Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
· Maintains confidentiality of sensitive financial data and adheres to company policies and ethical standards.
· Ability to adapt to changing business needs, take initiative, and work independently with minimal supervision.
