GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Quality Assurance Inspector - Level II performs any combination of the following tasks to inspect components and parts, in-process and finished products for conformance to instructions, specifications and drawings in order determine the acceptability to requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Visual inspections of in-process products for manufacturing and soldering acceptability to documented instructions and workmanship standards.
• Sample audits of finished products to ensure proper labeling, packaging, installation instructions and added hardware have been included.
• Sample audits of products prepared for shipment for correctness and completeness to customer orders.
• Operate Automatic Optical Inspection (AOI) equipment and review flagged parts for component and soldering acceptability.
• Verification and inspection of received goods to Purchase Order and part number specifications and drawings.
• Perform mechanical measurements using basic hand-held measuring devices.
• Assure that quality standards at defined process control stations are followed.
• Ensure rejected materials are appropriately identified and separated from other materials.
• Review required inspection records for completeness and accuracy.
• Communicate material, parts, and produced product issues or concerns to the Quality Manager.
• When needed assist the Manufacturing department with the assembly, testing and packaging of products.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Technical training in related field preferred.
• One (1) to two (2) years’ experience in an electronic manufacturing environment.
• Previous experience, training and knowledge in Quality Assurance processes and activities that that are appropriate to the job function.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Positive communication and interactions with employees.
• Ability to cross-train to interchange in other QA areas and stations.
• Support materials control and/or production activities.
• Self-motivated requiring minimal direct supervision.
• Ability to reason thru new process development and support of new technologies.
• Capable of reading and interpreting drawings and specifications, written instructions and visual aids.
• Basic computer and data entry skills.
• Ability to perform all functions of the job classification without posing a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.
