Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic individual to fill the position of Director of Property Accounting. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about training and mentoring an exceptional accounting team. You will work closely with the CFO and other senior management, both internally and externally, to oversee financial functions and ensure the integrity of financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor the property accounting team to ensure compliance with US GAAP, internal and external polices as well as achieving departmental goals.
- Collaborate with the CFO on financial strategies, reporting, and compliance.
- Oversee the timely and accurate preparation and analysis of financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
- Ensure accountants provide accurate and timely financial reporting for all managed properties.
- Implement and maintain effective internal controls and accounting policies.
- Work closely with external auditors during annual audits.
- Identify, evaluate, document and implement, continuous improvements for accounting processes to enhance efficiency. Updating the design and scope of controls as the business evolves to maintain the integrity of financial reporting.
- Direct and lead accountants with the onboarding and offboarding of new clients and properties process.
- Lead or assist with special accounting projects as directed by senior management.
- Work with the CFO and senior management to maintain vital banking relationships.
- Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes affecting property accounting.
Successful Candidates will possess the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in; Finance or Accounting
- CPA designation
- 8 plus years of accounting, auditing, finance
- Leadership experience in a supervisory or management role
- The highest level of integrity, excellent decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Must pass background and drug screening
