This position is an experienced role to provide leadership and technical support to our professional cleaning and maintenance formulations development. The individual in this position is partnering with other NAM departments such as Supply Chain and manufacturing leads, Marketing lead and Sales and Technical Services. The individual leads and manage a set of over 10 scientists and will build development plans for them, motivate them for successful performance and optimize the structure of the team where needed.
The role is a reliable member of the North American Leadership Team representing R&D. This position is the focal point for all R&D related matters in North America and will prioritize and delegate corresponding to the appropriate team member or other R&D departments. The Manager R&D has a problem solving mindset is technically very savvy and has excellent people management skills.
This role will also support and represent where needed the NAM GLP program

Technical Depth/Skills
- Technically leading R&D projects when needed with technical expertise in the area of formulation or testing of products
- Technically advice the NALT and senior R&D management on technical or application issues arising in the market and recommend a path forward
- Application of knowledge in the product portfolio of Diversey in NAM
- Understanding to support supply chain where needed if issues arise
- Establishes and develops contacts with relevant third party technology/science partners such as suppliers.
Data Handling And Analysis
- Generate a set of KPI’s for the group together with the Executive Director R&D.
- Gather data for all activites with marketing and supply chain in order follow up with proper prioritization
- Generate proper quarterly reports to report out on the deliveries of the group aligned to the strategy of the company
Management
- Organizes regular 1:1’s with reports in order to coach and mentor
- Creates and executes on the development plans for direct reports
- Builds a performance improvement plan when needed
- Builds a proper talent management plan for the group
- Organizes regular group meetings
- Talks to peers across the globe for alignment in the R&D organization
- Manages the lab and makes sure the labs are a safe and organized place to work
