Shipping and Warehouse Manager

Diversified Labeling Solutions, Inc. (DLS) is looking for an experienced Shipping & Warehouse Manager to join our Itasca, IL team. This position offers the right candidate the opportunity to be a key member of the plant management team and is responsible for the overall success of the plant’s shipping, receiving, inventory control, material handling and freight services operations, ensuring effective practices are in place to achieve operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, manage, mentor and assist the warehouse staff to meet predetermined targets while ensuring safety, accuracy, efficiencies and an excellent customer experience
• Manage plant inventory control functions, ensuring accurate inventory records are maintained and materials are handled in compliance with quality related standards
• Manage shipping, receiving and material handling strategies in alignment with company objectives, while implementing process improvements and driving efficiencies
• Ensure that all transactions are processed properly, including troubleshooting transactional issues within the ERP
• Measure and report on the effectiveness of warehousing activities and employee performance
• Actively participate in the EH&S initiatives and ensure departmental compliance
• Other projects/duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 5 years warehouse and shipping management experience in a manufacturing environment
• Strong understanding of warehouse management and inventory control principles with a keen attention to detail
• High level of critical thinking, sound decision making and problem-solving skills
• Self-motivated with strong communication and organizational skills
•  Ability to mentor and motivate staff to a higher level of performance
• Proficient computer skills (ERP, Microsoft Suite, etc.)
